From Community Organizer To Public Servant
I am Sharmarke Ali, a Canadian and the son of an immigrant family. I was raised with the values of education, hard work, responsibility, and helping others build opportunity in their lives.
I have a background in Computer Science and experience working in high-responsibility environments where organization, problem-solving, and system improvement were essential. That experience shaped my approach to leadership: focusing on practical solutions and improving how systems work so residents get better results.
I am running for City Council because I believe York South–Weston deserves practical, accountable leadership that improves everyday life—better housing stability, stronger access to opportunity, safer neighbourhoods, and city services that work more efficiently.
My focus is simple: make City Hall work better for the people who rely on it every day.
